May 01, 2020 Pacific Coast Taekwondo Closes Permanently

Hello Students, Staff, Families, Friends and Alumni of Pacific Coast Taekwondo,

I hope this email finds You and Yours in good spirits.

I am truly sorry to say our After School Martial Arts program, scheduled for September 2020 is cancelled. Evening classes will not resume.

As COVID-19 rages, I see little option, but to close our School. Our last martial arts function will be in support of our Black Belt Candidates.

Refunds for Evenings Apr & May, lump sums and After School deposits will be E-transferred.

PADs (pre approved debits) are now all terminated, including those scheduled for October.

Under the current conditions created by COVID-19, I simply cannot guarantee nor accommodate our programs as provided in the past. I do not see this changing for quite some time.

Social Distancing and potential staggered school classes create impassable barriers for us in the Studio & on our buses.

We cannot reduce numbers and still operate. We need at least 25 Students just to break even in After School. This reduced number would still exceed current COVID-19 health regulations.

Based on information from our BC Ministry of Health, Student & Staff risk is another reality we are unwilling to gamble on.

Our financial losses have been truly significant, but our emotional loss is almost overwhelming.

PCT has been our home, our treasure, our culture, our labour of love, not something easily put to rest. I had not planned to retire in 2020.

Students may make appointments to pickup their equipment left at the Studio. *Master J & myself will be at the Studio Tues, Wed, Thur 2ish to 6ish.

In early June I will hold a couple of Garage Sales at PCT. There may be some keepsakes Students can ask me about. In early June I will need some volunteer support in cleaning out the Studio.

My profound best wishes and gratitude for your support.

It has been my absolute honour to work with all of you these past 32 years.

Best wishes, take good care ~ Master Witt
