PACIFIC COAST CHALLENGE 99"
Follow Up
Overview, Thanks, and Pictures
| The best ever? Maybe because it's our 6th
time, maybe because our Ref Team meets monthly to practice intensively, maybe
because our members remain so supportive, maybe because our policy of 'Open' really means
open. Maybe it's all the big smiles I saw this year. Maybe it's the whole team work thing,
I'm not sure, but I would like to thank some people for their special, individual
efforts, aside from our supporting guests. * Mr. Darryl Mitchell, now our Chief Operations Manager, he is the 'architect' of our competition format. Carefully designing layouts, schedules, and assigning crew and management. * Mr. Christopher Halliwell, our Ref Team Captain, is our Competition Technical Chief. He supervises all Ref's, Judges, Time Keepers and Recorders. * Master Denis Chen for again providing his technical support at our Ref seminar and in follow up. * Our very hard working Referee's who, besides regular study and practice, put out a tremendous physical effort in performing their tasks. Kudo's to Mr. LaVanway, Brandon Tubbs, Scott Mitchell, and Ms. Amanda Ruf. Excellent confidence and leadership this year. Special recognition for outstanding displays will be given to Mr. Halliwell, Mr. Robert Verones, and Mr. David Catherwood * Technical support staff which includes Judges, Recorders, Time Keepers, Admissions Officers and Computer Data Recorders perform essential tasks. Accuracy on their part has a huge impact on competition. Again this team did a wonderful job this year, turning in 100% accurate information allowing us to get incredibly quick and reliable information. Last year and before it took me days/weeks to sift the information, recover data, then post it the web. Onsite, networked computers between our Head table & admissions/data input crew made a huge difference. * Support Crew - Again this group setting up operations and tearing down, handling communications, small emergencies over the day and concessions made this event so much better. Hard work and a long day. * First Aid - Our St. John's Ambulance people don't get much of a work out at our events, but they stay sharp over the day and when needed did an excellent job.
Special Thanks Mr. Bob Dobson Ms. Mclean and Ms. Falbo Honorable mention To Ruthie Rowe and dad who bussed all the way from Nanaimo for our event |
